Ageless Health: What is it?

What is Ageless Health?

Ageless Health is a concept for proactive and restorative healthcare that focuses on maintaining physical and mental strength, youthfulness, and good performance even as one ages. It emphasizes holistic care, combining the principles of Longevity Medicine with Lifestyle Medicine to extend a high-quality lifespan (Healthspan), not just a long lifespan (Lifespan).

What is Longevity Medicine?

Longevity Medicine is a science focused on slowing down the process of cell and systemic bodily degeneration, reducing the risk of chronic diseases (NCDs), and maintaining and adjusting the body’s balance before illness occurs (Preventive Healthcare). It concentrates on:

  • Cellular aging & inflammation: The core of the cellular degeneration or aging process.
  • Metabolic & hormonal balance.
  • Cardiometabolic & immune health: The health of the heart, blood vessels, metabolism, and immune system.
  • Biological age over chronological age: The age of cells and the body is more important than the actual age according to the calendar.

Key Diagnostic Tools

  • Advanced biomarkers: In-depth health checks, including laboratory testing of blood, urine, and various bodily fluids at medical labs or clinics.
  • Personalized / Precision medicine.
  • Proactive medicine: Prevention before the onset of disease.

What is Lifestyle Medicine?

Lifestyle Medicine is the use of “lifestyle behaviors” as the main principle for preventing, slowing, and treating chronic diseases, based on the 6 Pillars of Lifestyle Medicine:

  1. Good and personalized nutrition.
  2. Regular movement and exercise.
  3. Sleep and biological rhythms.
  4. Stress management.
  5. Avoidance of substance abuse/risky behaviors.
  6. Positive relationships and good mental health.
